Investment Area:
Health Care
We invest in and build companies that disrupt the business of health care. The incentive structure of the U.S. health care system—which is centered around third-party insurers—is broken. When individuals are treated as the customers of health care products and services, providers of care compete for their business, deliver value, and prioritize prevention and wellness over "sick care".
Entrepreneurs we’re working with:
Steve Lee and Daniel Lee
Aura Health’s co-founders are brothers Steve and Daniel Lee. They were compelled to start Aura Health after from their personal experience with mental health. As Korean immigrants, they experienced isolation and mental health issues as children. Aura Health provides a personalized app direct to consumers with a freemium marketplace of self-guided mental health resources for busy people who find traditional therapy cost prohibitive or have been let down by the lack of choice in traditional meditation & wellness apps.
Jonathan Kumar
Jonathan Kumar was born to immigrant parents in poverty, knowing first-hand the importance of community. He founded Samaritan with the goal of giving people without a home the social and financial support they need to leave the street.
Shrenik Jain and Ravi Shah
Shrenik Jain and Ravi Shah believe that every person with a mental health or substance use condition deserves access to a place where they can feel heard. That’s why, together with their team, they developed Marigold Health: an anonymous social network where those affected by mental health or substance use can support one another.
